Prince Hotel encourages guests to ‘steal’ luxury items from its rooms – including bathrobes, towels and wine

Hotels go above and beyond to make guests feel at home – offering little perks like free toiletries, slippers, bathrobes, and fluffy towels.

But while there’s a clearly drawn line between what you can and can’t take home, staff at the four-star Prince Hotel in St Kilda, Melbourne, turn a blind eye to ‘stealing’ customers.

Offering a one-of-a-kind stay, the hotel has decorated its rooms with an array of high-end items, valued at over $2,000, that guests can “steal” when checking out.

“We have seen some guests go to extraordinary lengths to smuggle items out of their hotel rooms,” hotel manager Ben Chan said.

“So we decided to expose this guilty pleasure and let guests steal items that are really worth it.”
